Hi, I am A.G.Aranha, residing at Pune since 2011. Earlier, I was residing at Mumbai for more than 25 years. The hectic life of Mumbai made me to think of settling somewhere near Mumbai and here I am in Pune.
There are a number of places and spots in and around Pune/Mumbai for short visits/picnics. I have been travelling all across the country on official engagements. Going on a holiday with my wife M.M.Aranha and two daughters any time between 2 years to 5 years was a task that required some pre-planning from selecting the place, mode of travel, hotel for stay, shopping etc. The information and photographs collected during such holiday vacations are reproduced in this website 'Travelspl.com'. It is named 'travelspl' to focus on travel area.
The website covers hill stations like Amboli, Tamhini Ghat, Kas Plateau, Gangtok,Sikkim, Kulu Manali, Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, beaches like Andamans, Goa, Velneshwar, Velas Agar, Turtle Bay,Sai Vishram Beach Resort, Malpe Beach & Panambur beach (Mangalore), Agri Tourism Resorts like Vishwa Kirti Agri Tourism Resort, Rutuparna Farm, and grand Europe Tour from India, Forts like Raigad Fort and Murud-Janjira Fort.
Pune is likely to get status as a tourist location as Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) is preparing a draft plan for development of Pune as a tourist spot to include more places around like Dehu Alandi, Bhuleshwar Temple, Bhimashankar etc. as per the news report. Creation of ropeways, adventure sports, rowing in the backwaters of the dams as also theme museums are part of this development plan.
Northern and southern parts of India have so much to offer for holiday goers, the respective area governments being proactive in tourism development. Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Andaman Islands among others are much sought after by travelers in southern part and Chandigarh, Shimla, Kullu-Manali, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Uttaranchal are some of the places preferred in the north. In the north-east, it is Siliguri, Gangtok, Darjeeling, Nepal and other surrounding areas. Gujarat has started developing tourism on a higher scale in the recent past.
There is so much to explore the nature and its beauty in this great country of ours. The more you travel, the better it gets to you.
This website is designed basically to share my first hand experience in the various travel spots, even though limited, with other travelers in India including a schedule on the great European Tour.
I hope this would be of help to my fellow travelers.
Thank you !
